Episode 7: Healing Trauma Through The Womb

In this podcast episode, Kaye and Trinity delve into the essence of spirituality, emphasizing personal experience and intuition over formal certifications. Trinity shares her spiritual journey, highlighting her cultural heritage and ancestral ties. She critiques the limitations of Western education in spiritual contexts, advocating for personal connection and healing. The conversation explores the interconnectedness of women through lineage and the importance of self-awareness and self-love. Trinity discusses her business, Diwa Soul Retreats, which supports Black, Brown, and Indigenous women, and both speakers stress the significance of community and collective empowerment in spiritual practices.

Her journey took a profound turn after the sudden passing of her Filipino-Hawaiian father. The experiences that followed catalyzed her evolution and opened her up to her Highest Timeline. She’s held titles such as Executive Director and Managing Partner, but her most recent endeavor is what she knows to be her life purpose — as Founding Vessel of Diwa Soul.

If you talk to Trinity, you’ll find a gregarious and highly intellectual woman who holds deep conversations and degrees from Ivy Leagues and prestigious global universities, but if you strip her bare, she is a creative. Her journey--nonlinear. As a child she originated a role on Broadway, won national competitions numerous times as a classical pianist, and danced as a Polynesian dancing performer on television and Atlantic City casinos. In her adulthood, she has worked with leaders in diverse settings such as Sony Music artist branding, Paramount Global writers rooms, and even co-curated and installed exhibitions for two Smithsonian institutions.

Trinity’s heart and soul have always been a truth teller. She's always found courage to say the things others were afraid to and saw beyond the myopic views. Trinity has found joy in social justice spaces elevating historically marginalized communities—transgender immigrants and illiterate Black Americans. Not as a savior, but as a contributor in dismantling capitalism.

The channeled vision is through Diwa Soul’s purpose: Investing in the liberation of Black, Brown, and Indigenous women through decolonizing, healing, and awakening.

Her spiritual Baylan name is Dayang Liwayway Akua, culturally translating to Divine Awakener. She is a mother, a stepmother, a wife, a sister, and a guide. She is a vessel. She is not special. She’s just living her purpose.
